the school of public policy and management, tsinghua university (tsinghua-sppm) is collaborating with the scholarly society for international comparative policy analysis (icpa-forum) and the taylor & francis group, and officially becomes the host institution of journal of comparative policy analysis: research and practice (jcpa), a world-renowned journal in the field of public policy.
founded in 1998, jcpa is currently the only english-language academic journal specifically dedicated to advancing comparative policy research and practice. jcpa currently publishes 6 issues a year, by taylor & francis group. in 2022, announced in 2023, jcpa’s web of science impact factor was 3.3 (q2), and its scopus citescore impact factor was 5.4 (q1). the jcpa has been hosted by simon fraser university (sfu), vancouver, canada and city university of new york (cuny), united states. tsinghua-sppm is the first jcpa host institution outside north america.
jcpa is affiliated with the scholarly society for international comparative policy analysis an international network of scholars dedicated to the advancement, encouragement and exchange of ideas, research, and other activities relating to comparative policy analytic studies. icpa-forum currently includes close to 40 institutional partners including yale university, uc berkeley, university of pittsburgh, university of washington, mcgill university, university of hong kong, tsinghua university, erasmus university, university of leuven, doha university, flacso ecuador, and prominent others. at the same time, icpa-forum has established partnerships with 10 prestigious international academic organizations, such as apsa, ipsa, mpsa, appam, naspaa, ipsa, nispacee, laspa, afsp and has established best comparative policy paper awards at their respective annual conferences.
tsinghua-sppm has been an institutional member of icpa-forum since 2014, and multiple faculty members including xufeng zhu, zhilin liu, and ciqi mei have served on the editorial board of jcpa in various capacities. so have graduate students as interns. becoming the host institution of jcpa demonstrates the school’s academic reputation and leadership in the international academic community of public policy.
as the host institution, tsinghua-sppm will establish an editorial office to assist jcpa’s editorial leadership team in the management, promotion, and development of the journal. the school will also organize various types of academic activities including international conferences, themed workshops, lectures, symposia and roundtables. tsinghua-sppm will collaborate with icpa-forum and taylor & francis to further expand the global impact of jcpa and promote the globalization of comparative public policy research and practice.
