on february 28, 2018, the united nations development program (undp) signed two memorandums of understanding (mous), that is, one between the undp and the state information center and the other between the undp and the china institute for development planning (cidp) at tsinghua university. the two mous are aimed at strengthening the research capacity for the china national human development report (nhdr), a special edition that marks the 40th anniversary of the opening up and reform and the 20th anniversary of human development report localization in china. this report will be published in december 2018.
nicholas rosellini, un resident coordinator and undp resident representative for china; xue lan, dean of school of public policy and management (sppm), tsinghua university; and cheng xiaobo, president of the state information center, signed the mou on behalf of their respective organizations.
the cidp was launched in 2006. it is a non-profit academic institute that is co-sponsored by the national development and reform commission (ndrc) and tsinghua university. the cidp, which is located at the sppm, exerts every effort of creating an advanced research platform and leading think tank on economic and social development strategies, development planning, and policy studies.
